Reason #3496 To Cook at da Crib!

What are natural flavors? (from Healthline, 2024)

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations, natural flavors are created from substances extracted from these plant or animal sources (1).  In my opinion, most companies that list the words "natural flavors" are likely to use animal in their products.  Otherwise, they'd be happy to tell you its an actual plant or herb that is more beneficial to your body than not, right??

  • spices
  • fruit or fruit juice
  • vegetables or vegetable juice
  • edible yeast, herbs, bark, buds, root leaves, or plant material
  • dairy products, including fermented products
  • meat, poultry, or seafood
  • eggs

These flavors can be obtained by heating or roasting the animal or plant material.

In addition, manufacturers are increasingly using enzymes to extract flavor compounds from plant sources to help meet the demand for natural flavors (2Trusted Source).

Natural flavors are meant to enhance flavor, not necessarily to contribute nutritional value to a food or beverage.

These flavorings are extremely common in foods and beverages.

In fact, research suggests they are the fourth most common ingredient on food labels (3Trusted Source).

Here is the article to inform you of what Natural Flavors truly are!  Feel free to google more articles are there is always more than one source.

An Alkaline-Electric version of a true-healthy Shamrock Shake!

1/2 cup kale
1 tsp rosemary
1/2 cup ice or more!

Topping
2 tablespoons whipped cream coconut whipped cream (optional)
2 cherries fresh, pitted

Pour into two separate glasses and add a dollop of coconut whipped cream.
Place a cherry on top and enjoy!

I personally do NOT recommend rejuvenex mentioned in the video to make alkaline-electric yogurt as probiotics (or the good bacteria should come from a healthy gut...which comes from eating electric). It's not that simple however, so let me know if you want more info on this later.

Honey Dew Sorbet

4 ½ cups of honey dew melon (approx.. 1 honey dew), cubed

1 tbsp. of freshly squeezed lime juice

¼ cup of agave syrup

¼ cup of water

Step 1

Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper

Place the cubed honey dew on a baking sheet, leaving space in between the cubes to allow for freezing.

Place the tray into the freezer and freeze the honey dew overnight or until completely frozen (approx. 4-6 hours)

Step 2

Place the frozen honey dew into the bowl of the food processor along with the lime juice, agave, and water and pulse until the honey dew becomes crumbly.  You may need to add more water until the mixture becomes more fluid but not slushy.  You’re looking for a soft sorbet texture at this point.

Taste dat sh*t and add any additional ingredients you feel at this point.

Serve immediately or store in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.  Remember, real food does not last multiple months or years. #eatmorelectric

Don’t like honey dew? Try this with cantaloupe and/or mango...or any other alkaline fruit! #yum

Alkaline-Electric Pulled Pork-less Sandwhich

Why not eat pulled pork from a pig? Click here for the research!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb oyster mushrooms, cleaned and shredded
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
  • 2 cups vegetable broth (homemade).  See recipe here!
  • 2 tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon date syrup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground papaya seed pepper
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Alkaline-friendly BBQ sauce (optional)
  • Alkaline-friendly coleslaw (for serving)
  • Alkaline-friendly burger buns or romaine lettuce wraps (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Heat grapeseed oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped red onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. Add the shredded oyster mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown and release their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the vegetable broth, coconut aminos, date syrup, smoked paprika, onion powder, ground papaya seed pepper, and a pinch of sea salt.

  4. Pour the broth mixture over the oyster mushrooms in the skillet. Stir well to combine, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the liquid has reduced, stirring occasionally.

  5. Once the mushrooms are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated, use two forks to shred the mushrooms into smaller pieces, resembling pulled pork.

  6. If desired, stir in some alkaline-friendly BBQ sauce to the pulled "pork" mixture for extra flavor.

  7. Serve the alkaline vegan pulled "pork" on alkaline-friendly burger buns or romaine lettuce wraps, topped with alkaline-friendly coleslaw.

  8. Enjoy your delicious and nutritious alkaline vegan pulled "pork"!

Note: Adjust seasonings and ingredients according to your taste preferences and Dr. Sebi's Nutritional Guide recommendations.

Enjoy dat ishhh!!
