How's Your Relationship w/ Food? Fun Monogamy and Polygamy analogies
Wrapping up the end of the year? Congrats for making it through!
My question to you is, are you tired of “just making it through”? Then do something different! To do the same over and over again, expecting different results is just insane. #legaldefinition
I’ve been on this plant-based journey for over 8 years now. Truth moment: I fell back to the SAD DIEt 3x in the first FIVE years. However, the more I paid attention to my body during the longer periods of staying plant-based, the easier it was for me to be aware of how my body responded when I ate meat, dairy, eggs, etc. It did not respond well at all. As a matter of fact, my body had been doing the same thing it had been since I could remember:
-Long, HEAVY menstrual cycles
-Unwanted Weight Gain
-Acne
-Foggy Brain
-Non-clear Vision
-Lots of Sadness
…and soooo much more!
In the last three years, I said no more! I wanted change. I demanded change. I succeeded. Want tips to succeed…for LIFE? #onward
As I try my best to help others, it’s been a lot of ups and downs. The ones that listened had great success. The ones that didn’t, guess what…they are not doing too well. #cancer #arthritis #autoimmuneissues #constipation #weightgain #fatigue #depression …the list goes on!
So, I’m thinking I want to challenge my peeps with a #cookmoreathome Challenge. The bottom line is…you can only remain healthy cooking your own foods…alkaline-electric of course! But you don’t have to do it alone! It is my mission to help you create your own #cookingcommunity Let’s take it back to the old school when we got together at least once per week…usually at Big Mama’s house…and everyone brought over a dish. Welp, my remake to this is everyone take a turn hosting a Sunday and make food together #everysunday
For those willing to take this challenge, I’m willing to GIVE you a FREE RECIPE! Hit me up if you’re interested! info@allthingsalkaline.org Please put in the subject line: #CookingCommunity
Gratitude and see you on the other side!

Join me and my partner, Chef Doctor Pat every Sundays on IG and FB live where we chat about “The Relationship with Food”. We have some fun analogies around Monogamy and Polyamorous Relationships with People that will definitely get you thinking!
The Corn Conundrum
Have you ever heard corn is not great for you? Wait, a veggie…not great for you? I get it but keep reading. What about high-fructose corn syrup? Probably more familiar, right. I always like to go back to the root cause of dis-eases and food…which causes the dis-ease.
The Corn Conundrum…
Welp, getting right to it. Corn contains phytic acid.
What’s phytic acid, you ask?
Phytic acid (or phytate) is a natural antioxidant that is found in animal foods as well as plants. And although antioxidants are good for us (reverse age, reduce risks of dis-ease, etc.), phytates are an acid. Acidic foods cause much damage to the body; i.e. bone and muscle deterioration, kidney stones, etc. They also bring your pH levels down which makes you more susceptible to all types of dis-eases including cancer and STD’s.
Why is phytic acid so bad?
I’m glad you asked! Phytic acid is considered anti-nutrient. The bad thing about being antinutrient is that it robs you of your minerals. As it travels through your body, it literally binds itself with iron, zinc, calcium and more, making you depleted of so many benefits. So that kale salad you had with many other alkaline-electric elements in it, but you added corn to it, you may as well had a cookie. That corn just robbed you of the goodness you just put inside. I know, I know. It’s so sad. And with more holidays coming up, what are you going to do about your Cornbread Dressing?
Come on now, you know I got your back! Check out my “No Cornbread Dressin’” recipe in my Alkaline-Electric Holiday Comfort Classics, vol. 1. There are soooooooo many reasons why you should be eating Electric foods as much as possible!
Do you realize just how much corn you’re eating, which means you’re deficient. Here are are some foods you probably didn’t realize has corn:
Several popular foods contain corn and phytic acid, potentially influencing mineral absorption in the body. Corn-based products and derivatives are prevalent in many diets. Here are some examples:
Cornbread, Cornmeal, and Corn Flour: Commonly used in baking and cooking, these are primary ingredients in cornbread, tortillas, and various snacks.
Corn Tortillas: A staple in many Latin American and Mexican cuisines, corn tortillas are made from corn masa and are a significant source of phytic acid.
Corn Chips and Snacks: Many popular snacks, such as corn chips and corn-based cereals, can contribute to dietary phytic acid intake.
Corn-Based Breakfast Cereals: Some breakfast cereals are made with corn and may contain phytic acid.
Popcorn: A popular snack, popcorn is a whole grain derived from corn and contains phytic acid.
Cornstarch: Widely used as a thickening agent in cooking and baking, cornstarch is another source of phytic acid.
Corn Oil: While the oil itself doesn't contain phytic acid, the refining process may remove some nutrients, and diets high in refined oils might be associated with imbalances in nutrient absorption.
Corn Syrup and High-Fructose Corn Syrup: These are common sweeteners derived from corn and are used in a wide range of processed foods and beverages.
Top 20 Common foods
where these sweeteners are often found:
Soda/Soft Drinks: Many carbonated beverages, including colas and other sodas, contain HFCS as a primary sweetener.
Candy and Confectionery: Various candies, chocolates, and sweet treats often use corn syrup or HFCS to enhance sweetness and texture.
Breakfast Cereals: Some breakfast cereals, especially those marketed to children, may contain corn syrup or HFCS.
Baked Goods: Many commercially produced baked goods, such as cakes, cookies, and pastries, use corn syrup or HFCS as sweeteners.
Fruit Juices and Drinks: Some fruit juices and fruit-flavored beverages contain added sweeteners, including corn syrup and HFCS.
Condiments: Sauces like ketchup, barbecue sauce, and salad dressings can contain corn syrup or HFCS.
Yogurt: Flavored yogurts, especially those with fruit or sweetened toppings, may contain corn syrup or HFCS.
Canned Fruits: Certain canned fruits and fruit cocktail mixes may have added corn syrup for sweetness.
Ice Cream and Frozen Desserts: Some ice creams and frozen treats use corn syrup or HFCS to enhance sweetness and texture.
Energy Drinks: Many energy drinks and sports beverages contain sweeteners like HFCS for added taste.
Canned Soups: Some canned soups, especially those with a sweet or savory flavor profile, may contain corn syrup.
Granola Bars: Certain granola bars and cereal bars may use corn syrup or HFCS as a binding and sweetening agent.
Flavored Yogurt and Dairy Desserts: Desserts and yogurt products with added flavors and sweeteners may contain corn syrup.
Bread and Bakery Products: Some commercially produced bread and baked goods may contain corn syrup or HFCS.
Pancake Syrup and Maple Syrup Alternatives: Some pancake syrups and syrup alternatives may use corn syrup or HFCS as a sweetening agent.
Canned Vegetables: Certain canned vegetable products, especially those with sweet glazes or sauces, may contain corn syrup.
Instant Oatmeal: Flavored instant oatmeal packets may contain added sweeteners, including corn syrup.
Processed Meats: Some processed meats, such as sausages and glazed hams, may contain corn syrup for flavor.
Prepared Sauces: Various cooking sauces, including sweet and sour sauce, teriyaki sauce, and certain pasta sauces, may contain corn syrup or HFCS.
Salad Dressings: Some salad dressings, especially those with sweet flavor profiles, may contain corn syrup or HFCS.
It's essential for you to read food labels to identify the presence of corn syrup and HFCS in products and make informed choices about your LIVEtary intake.
Link between Herpes/H3rp3s, Pigs, Cows, and Chicken??
Hey, homies! I remember having a convo with an herbalist friend of mine and he gave me a thought that I’m not sure I’ve EVER thought of, so I thought to share with you! We all know Beyond and Impossible Meat is created in a lab to mimic animal-based foods, right? Have you ever thought about certain animals that are NOT naturally created in wild? We call these domesticated animals, such as your furry friends, like pet dogs and cats. However, there are a number of other domesticated animals that are friends to some and complete “meals” to others. Yep! Pigs, cows, and chickens are among the most popular eaten animals, and also domesticated. If you grew up on a farm, perhaps some of those animals became loving pets, but for the most part, they are seen as food…I’ll just hang out here for a moment. Is that ok with you?
Ok, so why do some animals loving pets and some are seen as “food”? Could it be the marketing that was shown to you for NUMEROUS years? What about the new marketing on newer products like Beyond and Impossible Meat? Those are also grown in a lab, however, many people feel pigs, cows, and chicken are “real foods”. Some even refer to them as “REAL MAN FOOD!” Ha! Do you see those products as helpful or hurtful?
…and just for reading this far down, here’s a bonus! DID YOU KNOW?
“The herpes viruses are widely distributed in nature and infect a variety of vertebrates ranging from fish to primates." (Burrows, 1977). Translation: Herpes live in mammals, including pigs, cows, chicken, and humans. If you eat any of these, chances are, the herpes virus will show up in your system. Does this mean herpes is not (only) a sexually transmitted dis-ease? Perhaps! The evolution of the dis-ease is quite complex, however, that should be the last thing to focus on. This virus (along with many others) have been researched for many, many, many years. If you don’t want the virus, don’t just protect yourself when you’re doing the deed! #imjussayin Curious, what are your thoughts? #writeme info@allthingsalkaline.org I’m considering creating a private community. Would you join?
Lastly, this is why Dr. Sebi and many other greats were not advocates of hybridized plants. Adding the human touch to what nature has provided is usually not a good mix. See what I did there? Despite them being called a fruit or veggie…which we’ve been taught these are as healthy as you can get, these perfect looking plants are my last choice when I choose my plate. #jussayin
Keep rocking those pet adventures, and remember, each furball has a unique tale to tell! 🌈🐾
Here's the research!
The Link btwn Potatoes and GLUE!
Yes, Elmers, Rubber Cement, YOU NAME IT!
Although vegan, potatoes are not the nutritional hero we thought they were—it's more like a sneaky villain that can act like glue inside your body. But first, let’s chat about them being a hybrid!
Whether it’s white, yellow, russet, sweet, or what have you, the potatoes in US are more than likely hybridized. Why is hybridization of foods bad? Welp, what are your thoughts on GMO’s (GENETICALLY modified organisms)…now sometimes called Bioengineered foods? Does that sound appetizing? Does any of that sound like it should be floating around in your body?
So, potatoes are not only hybrid foods, but they act as a glue in the body! Now, off top, that should be enough for you to think “I don’t want glue to be in my body.” But I know how some of y'all like to justify not so great behaviors, so I’ll go further.
Do you have trouble breathing? What about chronic coughing, fatigue, nausea, choking, headaches, dizziness, mobility impairments, dyslexia, and/or abdominal pain? Any issues with any ONE of those at all…not necessarily all of them or multiple. Just one? Ok, now ask yourself, do you eat a potatoes, French fries, or “foods” with potato starch etc.? Potatoes contain a high amount of nitrogen. Exposure to Nitrogen is dangerous because it can replace Oxygen…which everyone knows we need oxygen, right? The lack of oxygen can lead to suffocation! I don’t know about you, but not being able to breath on my own is a scary feeling!
Now ask yourself again, is this (one of the reasons) why you have a hard time breathing? If so, you need to cleanse asap!! Something as simple as eating potatoes and French fries can lead to liver damage. Please detox/cleanse asap!
In case you skipped over this part, beware of foods containing potato starch! Potato starch is what makes glue sticky-icky! Look it up! I’m tellin’ you!
Terms for Clarity
Hybridization-
From hybrid cars, to language, technology, to even plants, don’t allow the word “hybrid” become normal when it comes to your food world. Hybrid foods are NOT OK!
Do you know which animals are hybrids? Would you be surprised to know that the cow is a man-made hybrid of? What about the chicken. Yea, this food thing is real.
Genetically Modified Foods-
Now those GMO’s are a bit tricky to put in a box, ya know. Umm, they got a few tricks in their bag! Basically, GMO’s have had one ore more changes made to it’s origin, typically done by using high-tech engineering in a lab with an attempt to change/alter the characteristics of the “food.” Think about the fakeness floatin’ in your body. Eek!
Bioengineered Foods-
Bioengineered is like the specific, snazzy cousin of GMOs that scientists just love to play around with. It’s that cool term that keeps it all nice and simple for the science crew as it’s food that contains genetic material that has been modified through certain laboratory techniques and for which the modification could not be obtained through nature. Ugh. In essence, all "bioengineered" organisms are GMOs, but not the other way around (Edmisten, NC State University). Do you wanna’ get wit’ that?
THIS is the very reason Dr. Sebi created a nutritional guide. It’s not perfect as foods are changing daily here in the good ol’ US of A, but it’s the closest we have to nature as we gotta’ eat sumthin! Click here
If you’re in Peru, where MUCH research is done, Dr. Sebi said, “Consider eating the Red Rose potato as that particular potato is the first-generation potato, closest to its mother/original.”
Need a potato replacement? Green Burro Bananas or even Butternut Squash are phenomenonal! You could fool your kids with the taste! Click here for an alkaline-electric version of potatoes!
Speaking of hybrids, perhaps next week I’ll chat with you more about hybrid animals! You’ll be amazed at what the cow and pig are hybrids of. Oh yeah! Those aren’t naturally created…creatures! Let me know if this is something you want to chat about next week! #drtruth #electricelements
Commemorating Dr. Sebi
Dr. Sebi's teachings and principles have undeniably transformed my life in profound ways; from naturally dissolving my fibroids, to me helping my friends/fam reverse Cancer, STD’s, etc. His holistic approach to health and wellness, emphasizing the importance of natural, alkaline fruits and veggies, has become a guiding light for me on my journey to a healthier lifestyle. By adopting his methodology, I have experienced increased energy, improved digestion, and a general sense of well-being. Dr. Sebi's wisdom has not only influenced my LIVEitary choices but has also sparked a greater awareness of the interconnectedness between what we consume (physically and spiritually) and our overall health. His legacy continues to inspire me to prioritize self-care and make conscious decisions that contribute to my physical and mental well-being.
I no longer practice holistic healing as I’ve gotten pretty busy with clients wanting Sea Moss regularly and with the launch of our clothing brand, Electric Elements. However, there is great news! Dr. Sebi’s first true love, his wife, Maa is still practicing holistic health. She was the one that was there, in the “lab” creating all of the compounds. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to her at any time as I still purchase herbs from her. She offers 1-on-1 coaching as well. Just tell her “All Things Alkaline” sent ya!

No Vaseline Vibes
"Vaseline Vibes: Navigating the Skincare Scene with Sass!"
Hey Beautiful!
It’s ya girl, Dr. Truth coming to you with the real deal as always. Let’s get into it!
As a young melanin princess, whenever I saw those Vaseline commercials with the off-white jar and the blue top featuring predominately white women, I thought, why are they putting something on their bodies that sound like should go in a car? #Petroleum #Vaseline = #Gasoline I know, it’s just the way my brain works!
Anyway, since they weren’t “talking to me”, I didn’t spend too much time thinking about it…even though that little jar has been holdin’ it down in millions of black and brown homes for years!
Then I noticed, a few years later, the same company, now “talking to me” about their new product, Cocoa Radiant. These women looked more like me, so I paid closer attention, plus my Momma always told me, Cocoa Butta was great for our skin! We used it. Quite a bit of it actually. Jar after jar after jar. Several years of wearing it, I noticed my skin did not glow like the black women on TV and it left me feeling itchy, actually. By this time, I was in already college. I made my own choices and I just stopped buying it. I can’t tell you what products I bought next, but I’m sure it wasn’t great either, considering my shopping was heavily budgeted for the Dollar Sto’!
So anyway, fast-forwarding to recently, I noticed a LOT of commercials with the beautifully, talented #ReginaKing My Spidey Senses went off, so I decided to do a little diggin’! #typical Do you know about www.ewg.org? They're like skincare detectives at a higher ranking than me! This site gives products ratings from 1 to 10 and guess where Vaseline is at? Welp, depends on which product we’re talking as this company now has over 120 products today! Here’s the low-down on the two product lines that I feel are the most popular!
Great news for the traditional Vaseline! It’s got a 1, which is the best possible score! But hold up! This is the “Vaseline ORIGINAL Healing Jelly” where the active ingredients is White Petrolatum, USP 100.0%. That still just doesn’t sound the healthiest to me but ok. The overall products rate a 4. Still not TOO bad…but KEEP READING!
Bad news, the Cocoa Radiant product line had around 10 different products and SEVEN of them rated between 7 to 9, which 7 thru 10 is of the WORST scores because the ingredients contain high hazardous chemicals. These high hazardous chemicals could contribute the following:
Cancer: Ingredients linked to cancer in government, industry or academic studies or assessments.
Developmental and reproductive toxicity: Ingredients linked to developmental and reproductive toxicity, a broad class of health effects that range from infertility and reproductive organ cancers to birth defects and developmental delays in children.
Allergies and immunotoxicity: Ingredients linked to harm to the immune system, a class of health problems that manifest as allergic reactions or an impaired capacity to fight disease and repair damaged tissue in the body.
Endocrine disruption: Ingredients may affect the proper functioning of the body's hormone system.

Remember who I told you the Cocoa Radiant line was “talking too?” Exactly. Does anyone find this info interesting?

So, should you be slathering on that Vaseline oil? Well, homie, that's your call. I just want you to be informed.
Speaking of, there’s other products you can use in-trade of. I simply use 100% UNREFINED coconut oil, mixed with a bit of PURE Shea Butter and a splash of Batana Oil. Batana Oil is amazing! I get mine from RA Cosmetics on Etsy.com Please note, I do not currently gain any monetary benefits with this company..though I hope that will change soon as it takes time and money to give you guys this #unbiased #peerreviewed #research. I’ll never tell you to get something I don’t use myself! You know why? Cause the healthier you are, the easier it’ll be for me cause….I gotta live in this world wit’ you Micky Ficky’s!
With want,
-Dr. Truth
